Screen Actor's Guild Awards - Luxola Beauty Trend Report

I've always found the Screen Actor's Guild Awards to be funny. I mean come one, SAG awards. Really? Heheheheh. It might be just me though...

Anyway, like the Golden Globes, Oscars, and whatever other entertainment awards, celebs will definitely be getting a ton of attention. Specifically on what they're wearing, what hairstyle they are sporting and what makeup they're wearing.

So, today Luxola brings you the top 2 looks that they've favoured for the SAG Awards! Sag, saggy saggy sag! Right...

First up!

Rose Byrne
What better way to make a statement of yourself than to colour your lips and cheeks with a shade of the same name as your own? Rose-toned lipstick and cheek colour it is for the lovely Rose Byrne (what else?)! Absolutely loved the star's nod to Veronica Lake waves done midlength-style. Adorable yet sophisticated at the same time. Two thumbs up for this lovely rosy beauty! It's easy to get that rosy complexion and the oh so kissable lips. Might I recommend the Benetint by Benefit? I absolutely love that stuff and it takes so little effort to get those perfectly blushed cheeks. Plus it's a lip and cheek tint! Talk about killing two birds with one stone.

No don't. Animal cruelty is frowned upon, please don't do it with a stone.

Now the real question is "How will I be able to get that hair?"

I am rubbish at doing my own hair. All I know how to do is 1) Brush my hair 2) Tie my hair up into a ponytail 3) Dye my hair. I can't curl or straighten my hair to save my life. Not even joking! Forget my lack of hairstyling skilss, here's how to get Rose Byrne's lovely hairstyle.

Start by first applying a few pumps of Original & Mineral's Frizzy Logic (S$29) through wet hair before blowing it out with a large round brush. After which, curl the hair with a small iron and brush the waves out.

There you have it! Simple right? Right. Too bad I can't curl my hair for nuts.

Now, on to her makeup. If you wanted a more step by step guide rather than "JUST USE BENETINT".

Apply Models Own's Chestnut Kohl Eyeliner Pencil (S$10) on the outer corner of your lashes, then use pink on the inner and lower lash line to create the illusion of no liner at all. Use a similar technique with the shadow, using a lavender on the outer lid and pale pink on the inner corners. Rose's cheekbones were accented with a combination of cream blush topped with powder on the apples and temples. Finally, her look was finished with a pop of bright lip colour using Sleek's True Colour Lipstick in Candy Cane (S$16). Like I said, you can also use benefit's benetint!

Moving on!

Anne Hathaway

Princess Mia, Andrea Sachs, Selina Kyle a.k.a Catwoman. Everyone knows her.

She's pretty, but I'm not sure the short hair is doing anything for her. That's just what I think. I still prefer her long hair. Short hair is more modern though, with her flawless skin, red lips and dark eyeliner that screams "TIMELESS", I think this look deserves some respect.

To achieve this look, begin by spritzing Original & Mineral’s Rootalicious (S$50) on your root and ends. After drying hair with a diffuser, use your fingers, along with some hair spray, to mould the crop into the final shape. This is for all the short haired ladies out there. I think the last time I've had my hair this short was when I was 11. Thats quite a number of years ago...

Anyway, Hathaway's standout red lipstick was an exaggeration of her natural lip colour, try using Edward Bess' Ultra Slick Lipstick in Eternal Passion (S$37). Her cheeks were given a warm flush with Face Atelier Ultra Blush Peach Glaze (S$45), or you can just about use any shimmering peach blush!

There you have it! 2 absolutely easy to replicate looks that are sophisticated and natural at the same time :)

Till next time!

xoxo
