Back to school we go! Today is day number four of school and I'm already succumbing to sickness. That was record breaking. It's been pretty fun the past few days, pretty okay lecturers to drive us throughout a semester of extremely dry modules. The only thing I didn't like was that the whole school premise was crazy crowded, seeing that there are tons of CCA booths and whatever weird booths for freshmen and stuff.
So that was what our seniors felt last year.
The weather's been really crazy too. Great, I take 10 steps out the door and it feels like I've just ran a whole marathon or something, with all that sweat.
I digress. So, if you did notice the very first picture of this post (if you did not, please get your eyes checked), you'll see what I have on my nails for this week.
Afternoon Thunderstorms by Happy Hands Nail Polish. I've been told that my nails look like cute little grey easter eggs. Amazing.
Here's Happy Hands Etsy store and Facebook page!
It has a hint of golden shimmer to it, like you know, the sun that comes out after a storm? Hmmm, I like this. I also happen to like a lot of things too. Like cold tofu.
Oh wow bad segue there. Nonsense aside, I really like cold tofu, and that was my lunch. Along with some miso soup, ham omelette and a bowl of rice. A simple meal for a sick kid like me. How I wish I can really consider myself a kid... Sadly I'm almost 18 now.
I haven't posted anything in so long it's kind of depressing. Then again, school has started and I should start despairing. This semester seems pretty tough and heavy in terms of workload, so I don't know how often I'll be able to blog. That is so sad.
I probably should have like a photo spam right now, because I have no idea what else would be interesting. Seeing that I didn't really buy anything new that would be of interest to anyone. Candy, yeah I bought candy, that I finished in lecture. That's about it.
Oh, I should totally do something way different and tell you all the recipe for the cold tofu. It's not much of a recipe or anything. All I did was draw up some ingredients that I thought would taste good together with tofu and BHAM, there we have it. Cold miso tofu.
You only need a few things.
A block of silken tofu
Miso paste (I got mine from Kuriya Fish Market in Causeway Point, but I'm pretty sure NTUC has it)
Water
Rice Vinegar
Here's the amount of each ingredient I used for 1/4 block of tofu. Because really, a whole block for lunch is a little overwhelming.
1/2 tbsp Miso Paste
1 tbsp Water
1 tsp Rice Vinegar
But really, everyone has a different preference when it comes to how salty/tangy things are, so adjust accordingly. It's really simple.
I only made it with miso because I ran out of japanese soy sauce and I have an insane obsession with the taste of miso. Also, I ran out of spring onions, so I garnished the tofu with chopped leek instead.
I'm not even sure if anyone even makes cold tofu this way, but it tastes great to me. That makes me happy!
I shall end this post with pictures of my cousin's dog, a toy poodle. Her name's shynie and she's staying over at my house at the moment. She's a little furball of joy.
Have a great weekend ahead everyone!
xoxo
